Patrice Mutchnick-Board Chair- feels fortunate to live in the “heart of the gila” in a small community at the headwaters of the Gila River. Like her daughter, Ella Jaz Kirk, Patrice is a river lover and an advocate for wild places. She established a “Fund to Keep the Gila Free” in honor of Ella and is now a board member of the Heart of the Gila. Her passion is rare plant ecology and chasing butterflies.
Lexa Jobe Dahl-Bredine, Secretary-Lexa Jobe lives with her husband, Andrew and their three children, Grace, River and Tule, in the Gila valley. Her passions are her children, cooking, dancing, plant medicine and living in honor and deeper relationship with our Great Mother Earth, all our relations and our precious source of life, the Gila River
Naava Koenigsberg, Vice Chair, Treasurer, has lived in Silver City for 24 years and runs her own business as a practicing herbalist. She has experience serving on non-profit boards and is involved in several local community garden projects. Naava is happiest either puttering in her garden or exploring the Gila. She considers the plants that grow here to be her neighbors– although she is still trying to learn all their names.
